v23 wouldn't load on a ver 4 WRT54G using the web interface. Somehow I managed to brick the router. I looked up the intel flash chip and grounded pin 12, ping on 192.168.1.1 came back. tftp v23 into the router. What nice software. Runs great as an AP. Have tried VERY unsuccesfully to run it as a client or client bridge. probably because it is V4. Any ideas, tried several of the posts instructions.

i had the same problems on a wrt54gs v4 with client bridged mode. it seems that WEP workes perfectly but WPA and beyond have their problems for now. I should say though, that it has worked intermittantly but I gave up and switched to WDS with WPA since I have 2 linksys routers (WRT54Gv2.2 AND WRT54GSv4).

Duhh, I didn't read all the posts here on Client/bridge setup.

Very easy setup, and works great, one item is they say that DHCP be disabled at the end of the post. It works fine that way, however I don't want to go around assigning static Ip to all the computers, enabled DHCP, with the range above the range set for the AP using the same subnet, works like a charm. I'am on it (Clien/Bridge)right now.

i have a v4 unit here. client mode must work always if you setup everything right (security settings etc.) client bridge works here too, but is still problematic for some people

just curious brainslayer: what should the gateway and dns settings be for a router acting as a client bridge?

the gateway must be the ip of your access point. the dns settings are variable, possibly your ap too

It's been working for me except when in client-mode it keeps picking up the people above (signal is a bit stronger) and keeps switching from my other router to theirs....I wish it could have like an allowed to connect list or something....sortable by mac address(sometimes ssids overlap).
