It's nice to see the brainslayer and company are getting some newer builds out for testing purposes. I am liking some of the newer features that they are working on, but I seemed to have found something, and I am not sure if this is a bug or something I have failed to set correctly.

I had a WRT54GS running v24 from 9/10/06. This router was functioning as an access point. I set the WAN and LAN IP to the same static address, turned off DHCP server and configured the VLAN 0 and 1 to all be LAN. This allows the wireless device to join the network and obtain a DHCP address from the firewall router. This config also allows the WAN port to be a part of the LAN.

With the latest build, all the settings are the same but I get no DHCP address and obviously no internet access. I did do a hard reset in hopes that something in NVRAM was corrupted, but no joy.

I understand that I am in uncharted territory, but wanted to see if other adventurer's may have seen this behavior. What would be the easiest way to relay this info to BrainSlayer's team for investigation?

Why set the wan IP to the same as the LAN? I set connection type to disabled and turned off DHCP, then setup the VLAN so the WAN so a LAN port as well and it works fine. I have v23 though. It sounds liek your leaving the connection type at static and giving the router a WAN IP and that doesnt make sense, but I may be reading it wrong.

It appears that there is something different in v24 from 9/10/06 and 12/18/06. I reflashed my WRT54GSv2 back to 9/10/06 and this has returned funcionality to the WAN port. The only way I could get the workstation to obtain an IP address from the DHCP server upstream was to connect to upstream ethernet cable from the WAN port and plug it into a LAN port. The configuration did not change, only the firmware. By changing only the firmware, the functionality changed.

I send this info to the DD-WRT forum but no one has answered with any confirmation or suggestion. If anything changes, I will report back to this thread.
