    Hello all,

Wondering if anyone else out there that is using Victek's 1.28.8618 version has been having any trouble with their router locking up? I have a Linksys WRT54G that stops working once or twice a day...can't access the router either until I reboot it. Then, everything works again. This wasn't happening with verison 1.21.006. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem? At first I thought that perhaps setting the Transmit Power to 240 might have caused this but I set it back down to stock and it continues to lock up...:dog:

I can't speak for him. But from what I heard and from others. You should be using kernel 2.4 instead of 2.6 on that older router.

Makes sense...perhaps Vic will respond when he gets the opportunity...

Flashed the 1.28.121006 version back on my WRT54G...seems like the router is more stable now!?

I've been having issues but I'm not sure if it's my E3000's problem or the firmware. Its been good for the past month and today it did a hard crash where I can only get the wireless connections working and all the LAN/WAN ports are dead with no lights. A hard reset brings it back to life but when I try and restore the last good config it locks up hard. I seem to have some kind of problem with the wireless client filter - turning it on causes the lock up.

One of the deciding factors for if you use K26 or K24 cores is if you do or don't have problems. Some of our "older" routers can handle the K26 core, some can't. My -TM version did fine with it. But my GL version was more stable with the K24 version.

mikester, sounds rather like your NVRAM has become corrupted. Your last config would be too, try a previous one first. If not, possibly an nvram erase and reconfigure may fix it.

I've done that as well as a thorough erase during upgrades. Typically I've had to do it 3-4 times to get it working with any stability. I have also manually re-entered all my settings (not fun) and am guessing there may be some hardware issues.
