CAUTION: long post, but a lot of detail about using the camera with an access point and being able to see it (or not) from outside the LAN.

This is about the WVC54G network camera.

I was having lots of trouble and getting no help from linksys tech support. However, I've figured out how to connect the camera via an AP and be able to view it from outside of the LAN. My AP's are the Netgear WXG102 ethernet over powerline wireless extenders.

I've written it all up on my website. Read the write-up here.

    Internet Connectivity

After some trail and error I was able to see mine outside the LAN. I figured it had to be my network config. since I was able to access the website and view video fine from the LAN. It turns out that my router (WRT54G) was unable to see internet traffic because my modem(bellsouth westell) was not passing unsolicited traffic to it. After making the appropriate changes it worked fine.
