I am thinking of setting up a Vlan and putting all my devices that are connected to it, after reading a lot about them it would seem that they can offer a higher level of security.....I have a netgear with Tomato Firmware v1.28.7500 MIPSR2Toastman-VLAN-RT K26 USB VPN-NOCAT and I'm thinking it would be a good idea. I have played with a VPN, but I have a device that I can't run from behind a VPN, it's a vodafone sure signal and it's needed.

Anyway to start with, I was thinking of creating a vlan as mentioned above, having a bit of a mess on with it, any tips are pointers at all please to why they are good or bad?

I'll concentrate at a later date with the sure signal and that maybe I can hook that up direct to one of the lan ports for it's own access to get around the VPN when I get that set back up.

For now...the Vlan is my question?

    Thanks a lot
