Using DD-WRT and the Freeware SNOM Softphone
    http://www.snom.com/snom360softphone.html
(same with SNOM 190 firmware 3.60x or SNOM 360 firmware 3.60x)

and one of the VoIP-providers blueSIP.net; gmx.de or 1&1 I always get the error message: "Registrar refused with code 479" or "Please don´t use private IP addresses"

All three providers don´t offer free RTP proxies and refuse registration when using private IP addresses in contact header.

I don´t have this problem with Intertex IX67 router ( http://www.replacerouter.com/ ) which is a special sip-aware linux router. So it seems to be a problem with the WRT54G/GS

this isnt a problem of the WRT. its just a problem of the firmware. currently only NAT and Routed networks are allowed. mit routed it wouldnt be a problem, but with NAT

So will there be any improvement / fix?

These is not a problem with nether WRT54G'GS, Hardware VoIP, Soft VoIP, and or in that matter firmware.. I use RT31P2 Vonage behind my WRT54GS and also use Skype and I have no problems at all.The keyword in your post is

    Code:
and one of the VoIP-providers blueSIP.net; gmx.de or 1&1 I always get the error message: "Registrar refused with code 479" or "Please don´t use private IP addresses"
    and
    Code:
    I don´t have this problem with Intertex IX67 router ( http://www.replacerouter.com/ ) which is a special sip-aware linux router.
Like you said thats a SIP AWARE Router so it works better with those software that can not be behind NAT table.

My sugestion... Complain as much as you can that you will not drop your router because there registration server dont support private but public...
My opinion.. That providor is GIMP  :p
    Good Luck

No, those three providers aren´t gimp. All three are very very stable and have very good quality - that´s because they don´t offer free RTP proxies which are a solution to solve wrong register messages but on the other hand with growing user amounts leed to quality/stability problems.

I didn´t have this problem with Linksys firmware versions <3.x (and all firmware versions based on that official version). The problem was introduced with Linksys firmware version 3.x

I also use Skype - that´s based on a different protocol - not the SIP protocol.

And: The problem does not only occur with a softphone, it also occurs with SNOM 190 firmware 3.60x or SNOM 360 hardware phones.

Is it possible to make the WRT54G/GS firmware "sip-aware"?

Again I doubt the problem is in the router. I run my RT31P2 just fine.
If it is the firmware than just downgrade...

That´s a great hint (downgrade). But others with higher hardware versions can´t just downgrade.

E.G. everythings works with HyperWRT 1.4 but not with HyperWRT 2.x; Everything works with Linksys firmware <3.x but not with firmware >= 3.x
