Is it possible to set up the WAG354G as a VPN endpoint for 1 connection in? I like the look of these but really want VPN endopint functionality.

Any info would be appreciated as I'm planning a router upgrade very shortly :)

Your in the wrong forum but I'll answer anyway ;) The WAG354G won't work as a VPN endpoint, the older WAG54G's do though. For an alternative there's the Daytek Vigor 2800G or Zyxel Prestige 661HW but they are more expensive :?

Lots of people recommending the Draytek 2800 :)

Or perhaps the WRV54G ... that looks pretty funky :)

    Thanks for the info

If you happen to have 2000 server or 2003 server (you can download a free 6 month trial version of 2003 server from microsoft), then you may be able to set up a vpn server and just pass GRE thru the WAG354G by opening up port 1723...

But that's not an ADSL router ;)

Just as Taz pointed out, if you go with the WRV54G (both he and I have one) you'll need a "separate" adsl modem because the wrv54g is an "ethernet" router.

A good place to go for a "plain" ethernet adsl modem would be adslnation (www.adslnation.com); I'm using an older version of the x-modem ce and it works great with my wrv54g.

    NOTE:

If you're going to get the WRV54G, be sure to look at the "Quickvpn Setup Guide" I've posted so you can save yourself six months of "ass pain" trying to get the vpn to work.
