SO i got my VPN set up. and my QUickvpn working. I connect from an off-site location, using QuickVPN, into a small office network.
Office network consists of: (2) XP Home PC's, WRV200, running as workgroup. FIle sharing works fine with workgroup.

WHen i VPN in, i can ping fine. But i can only access the file shares, IF i remove the firewall from the WOrkgroup PC's. WHen i restore the firewall, file shares are no longer accessible.

I would prefer to keep them up.

Any idea what tweak i need to make to the WIn XP SP2 firewall? I already installed that IPSec patch from MS.

Do you have the XP SP2 Windows Firewall address scope for File & Print Sharing configured for the local subnet? If your VPN clients are assigned an address outside the address scope of the local subnet you may need to create a custom scope and specify each possible IP address you want to allow access.

I don't have a WRV2000 but that is what I do with my local PCs and my OpenVPN clients. In the address scope for File & Print Sharing I specifically call out the individual IPs of the clients I allow to connect to shares on each PC. In the example local PC is allowed access as are two OpenVPN clients that are assigned IP addresses of and respectively.
