I am trying to setup a VPN tunnell on my RVS4000 router. I am unable to connect via QuickVPN Client, it says connecting then comes up with an error message that it is unable to make a connection. My connection log looks like this:

    2009/01/07 11:26:17 [STATUS]OS Version: Windows XP
    2009/01/07 11:26:17 [STATUS]Windows Firewall is ON

2009/01/07 11:26:17 [STATUS]Connecting to remote gateway with IP address: x.x.x.x

2009/01/07 11:26:27 [WARNING]Local IP address conflicts the subnet of remote VPN Server.
    2009/01/07 11:26:37 [WARNING]Remote gateway wasn't reached...
    2009/01/07 11:26:37 [WARNING]Failed to connect!

When I look at the VPN Summary on the router configuration the status always is "down". When I try to connect under tunnel test this remains at down. This should change to active or up, correct?

I apologize for the vagueness, this is my first VPN setup. Please let me know what additonal information I can provide to help you help me.

    Thanks in advance.

i guess its because of your Local IP address is the same as the remotes subnets this is causing the issue.

So what would be the best way to resolve this? I already changed the IP address on the lan settings on the router from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1 and that didn't resolve the issue?

Should mention also that firmware is V1.1.14

Upgrade the firmware and I am now able to connect to the new VPN if I am on a different internet connection, but not when I am on the connection going through the router with the VPN.

I am going to start a new thread explaining what I am trying to do to make sure it's even possible.
