My WAG200G is working fine with good speed, however when I use Flashget (Download manager) with more than one part the WAG200G disconnects the internet immediately.
and reconnect after 15 seconds and continue to do that until I stop the flashget.
am using PPPOa, and the latest firmware which is 01.01.06
    the log is,
    Wed, 2007-12-12 23:28:26 - lcp echos pending >= lcp_echo_fails!
    Wed, 2007-12-12 23:28:26 - No response to 3 echo-requests
Wed, 2007-12-12 23:28:26 - Serial link appears to be disconnected.
    Wed, 2007-12-12 23:28:26 - run_program(/etc/ppp/ip-down)
    Wed, 2007-12-12 23:28:26 - chld,got_sigchld=1
    Wed, 2007-12-12 23:28:26 - ret=3420
    Wed, 2007-12-12 23:28:26 - LCP down.
    Wed, 2007-12-12 23:28:26 - reap_kids,waitfor=0
Wed, 2007-12-12 23:30:07 - This terminate is called from lcp_finished()
    Wed, 2007-12-12 23:30:29 - Options file - /etc/ppp/options.8.35.
    Wed, 2007-12-12 23:30:29 - pppd 2.4.1 started by root, uid 0
Is there any way that I can disable this auto ping test or increase the timeout of the echo request
    I appreciate your help

Since it seems that there are a lot of us that are having the same problem, can you please answer:
    - What is your sync speed?
    - Does the DSL line drop when you have the PPP disconnections?
    - Does it also happen with 1.01.03 firmware?
I have the feeling that it is a firmware problem, and cannot be solved without modifying it.

    Dear irozak
    thanx for your reply
    the speed is 512Kbps/128kbps
the DSL dose not drops when the PPP disconnects
the WAG200G came with 01.01.05 firmware and when I notice this problem I did upgrade to 01.01.06, however that upgrade did not solve this problem, so I didn't try the 01.01.03.
    what is your suggestions??
    thanx again

can't you use ppoe instead of ppoa ?

Maybe it's a bug in your download manager. Some download managers disconnects the modem to change the allocated IP (this bypass rapidshare control).

Maybe you could try to upgrade the software version ?

    Go to : http://192.168.1.1/setup.cgi?todo=debug
    (I'm assuming 192.168.1.1 is your WAG200G IP)
This launch a utlenetd server on the Linksys WAG200G.

Then with PUTTY for instance, telnet 192.168.1.1
with user "root" and the WWW password.

Look if the memory is filled during the problem (top, mem or I don't know what command, cauz' my WAG200G is broken...) or look if you can see something strange ?

[EDIT] What's your setting for "Connect on Demand: Max Idle Time" or "Keep Alive: Redial period" ?

    thanx dear ItalianJob
it is a great idea (debugging the WAG200G) however I did use the debug link and I got {Debug is enabled} but the utelnetd server is not enabled (telnet refused)
I did test both Connect on Demand=60 and Keep Alive = 30, same issue

I think this device should not be related to cisco
    any suggestions :frown:

    thanx

any thing that I do download using flashget or getright or any download manager, the router will stop after the download start in 15 sec,
for example I did download yesterday the putty, the size of this file is 444k, the router restarted the ppp connection two times until I got this file :frown::frown:
am thinking of giving the firmware 01.01.03 a try, but I dont know from where I can get it, or is there any way that I can enable the telnet so i can see if there is any thing strange

thanx every one and please keep assisting me

strange that i don't have the issue, may be because i use pppoe? donno.

can you try disabling WIFI, and do your testing using wired connexion? just to see if wifi can be an issue or is not. at least this will remove a parameter from the equation :)

may be you could try to use a lesser value for the MTU ?

I use pppoe like You and I have a problem.
I have lots of conversation with my ISP tech support. Problem exist only in some cases and fw 1.01.04 solve this problem.

I try everything (I have lost 2 days) without any success. Wired, wifi -same, changing MTU... You named - I tried.
Then I put FW 1.01.04 and everything works great. I dont even needed to reset to factory default after flashing. Router have keeped all setings, conect and work normaly.
After getting back 1.01.05 - problem again.
Finaly I put 1.01.04 and I dont have problems anymore. :)

    Sorry on My english. :)

I confirm that the latest stable version is 1.01.04. Anything newer introduces the ppp disconnect behaviour.

So, for myself, I will stick with 1.01.04 until Linksys solves the problem.

Some french users where complaining about 1.01.05.

Example : 2M line (PPPoE) droping from 250kb/s to 210kb/s with no apparent reason... (57 db, no P2P)
=> A reboot was needed to solve the problem.

With 1.01.06, all seems corrected.... So, as ever @Linksys, you've to choose the best "less-bugged" firmware for your use.

I try 1.01.06 for annex B and have same problem with reconnect like 1.01.05.
    Problem is not solved.

    I stay on 1.01.04.
