    hello
i got WAG300N, for some reason the ADSL connection drop from time to time, for every 1 to 6 hours , then reconnect to the ISP.
is this a router problem or ISP problem or phone line?

    hello again
i just found out that the router/modem disconnect the internet (the internet connection led in the modem turn off then on every 1-6 hours) when i use any bittorrent application, what cause this problem?

If the internet connection on the modem is dropping its either your modem or ISP. However it could also be that bittorrent is causing the internet side of the modem to get hammered and causing the issue. Try just using the connection and see if you get the intermittent drop without the torrent running.

    Hi
I also have WAG300n i also have problem with ADSL connection.
No matter what i do, its droping adsl connection few times a day. With other cheaper Sagem ADSL model there is no problem with connection.
Maybe in WAG300n the modem is not so good ?

    Hi
I'm having the same issue. At first I thought it was a problem with the ADSL line or the exchange so I connected my old Westell router and the DSL has been up for 48 hours... not a single glitch. Put the WAG300N back on and the problem returns.

Problem: WAG300N - 'Internet' LED will turn off, often followed by 'DSL' LED shortly after. DSL will re-train signal after a minute or two then the internet will connect once more. This can happen at intervals between 10 minutes and upwards. It is impossible to sustain a stable internet connection.

I am on most current firmware 1.01.06 which I have upgraded from the 1.01.05 which the unit shipped with, this has made no difference.
The Ethernet connectivity and wireless are still perfect during these outages as I can see in real-time the disconnections using the management interface.
I have noticed that the router itself is physically very hot to the touch and this has only started happening in the past 5 days - coincidently when the ambient temperature has increased a lot (being summer and all).

I'm going to try and raise an RMA with Linksys, I'll post here if I get any more info.

Wht bittorent application are u using? Have you tried limiting the # of simulatenous outbound connection on the torrent software? see if this helps

    Hi,

That is because Utorrent open a loot of ports, and the UpnP service crash.

Try to contact Linksys support, maybe they have a new firmware that already resolve that problem.

    new firmware wag300n

i had the same problems with my wag300n, it was getting anoying everytime modem down and download speed was not the same no more even the handshake with the isp was dead, so i contacted linksys and the now the problem the gave me a new firmware and it works fine for me now no problems at all.

here is the link for the new firmware:

    http://www.divshare.com/download/4170193-136

and if u use vista than u should also disable autotuning level otherwise it wil not handshake right with your isp

    1) open cmd as admin
    2) enter this string: netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
    3) restart your pc
    4) update your new firmware
    5) after updated new firmware reset to factory defaults
    6) than apply your isp settings, and u are done
