    Hello all,

I have a WAG54G with a WPC54G on my labtop and I'm experiencing a problem with the wireless connection:

    - I use firmware v1.03 beta4 and previously used v1.02.9 and when I download large amount of data, it seams that the connection fallsback to low and it dropps. Then we must reset the router in order to use it again.

    - It seams that this is not only when I use intensively. There's only 1 user connected to the router and it's me! No other wired or wireless user.

    - I wonder if this is a faulty router or it's a firmware problem (so far I tested with 2 versions of firmware and the problem still remains).

    - The distance between router and laptop is +/- 5 meters (walls are thin and no interference)

    - If I only browse on the internet, the router stays stable at signals (very good - good) and speeds (36-42Mbps). If I download something, then it suddenly falls to low and it dropps connection.

QUESTION: Can this be a faulty router? Can this be from firmware?
Anyone experiencing this ? Any clue/hint? Should I replace the router?

Try to setup to G only and don't leave TX rate to auto ( setup to 54 mbs)

what speed is your internet connection? try setting the wireless mode to 11b and see if it does the same.

Making the TX to less than 54MBps or setting the wireless mode to 804.11b does not work. I still have those issues.

I reverted to 1.2.1 firmware (original) and it's more stabble, but still hangs.

    Any suggestion? Any more help?

If this problem continues, I will replace this WAG54G with a DLINK DSL-G604-T which I've been told it's much better than this one.
