When I called the helpcenter of Linksys for my problems connecting to internet without the home PC on (connected to WAG54G wired), they told me that it was a known problem, and suggested a standard change with a WAG354G. I accepted this offer. Is it a good decision? The WAG54G is V1.2. I also had some problems with its range (coudn't reach some rooms 1 floor up) so I hope the antenna of the newer version is stronger. I can't really tell the difference from the product sheets, the one thing is that WAG354G is called the ADSL "Home" Gateway and the WAG54G jus ADSL Gateway !

Take care, the WAG354G is cheaper than a WAG54G.
A WAG54G 2.0 is a better choice from my viewpoint because twice better (fast, stable, cool, etc.) than a 1.2 !

I read apparently on several sites that the WAG54G V2 users are very satisfied of their new product and it seems to be a rather lower enthousiasm on the WAG354G. Apparently is the range of V2 compared to V1.2 larger. Is this correct?
Should I insist to have my old WAG54G V1.2 to be replaced by a WAG54G V2?

    Yes !
I have currently the two models and my v2 is much better.
On my remote PC using a WMP54G the wireless is 54Mbps stable instead of 36 Mbps not stable with v1.2.
With exactly the same conditions, the wireless throughput for file transfers, is twice better...

You might have a problem getting a WAG54G v2.0 as they've been officialy discontinued. The WAG354G is the replacement, although it doesn't have all the features of the WAG54G, i.e. no VPN server

I saw indeed a new version in the shot, the WAG54GS, much like an WAG345G but with antenna.

No, the new version is WAG54GX2 with 2 antennas !

Seriously, Linksys must replace a WAG54G 1.2 by a WAG54G 2.0 at least ! DO NOT ACCEPT a lower product...
