Trying to forward port 3389. Seems to work sometimes but more often than not it fails. After reading the problems with this router I will try forward port range option. I have not found a lot of info about the single port forwarding problem so any advice or links would be good. I have version 1.01.9 and don't have major problems besides the wireless dropping off sometimes. Not a big issue for me, sounds like a major for some. After reading of ploblems of other versions of firmware I am not to keen on upgrading unless there is good reason to do so. OS is XP Pro.

there obviously was a problem with port forwarding... on looking back on the news i posted a while back..

    Firmware version 1.02.2

    - Fixed single port forwarding will fail if "External Port" is different from "Internal Port".
    - Fixed Intel UPnP tool not being able to scan the device
    - Fixed Wireless Clients not being able to get IP via DHCP Relay
    - Added support for SNMPv2c
    - Added "Remote Upgrade" UI
    - Fixed PPTP passthrough problems
    - Fixed issue with Nortel VPN clients not being able to connect to Gateway using certificates
    - Fixed disconnection issue during large file FTP download when using IPSec passthrough(UDP)

1.02.2 was buggy and they did release a 1.02.3 after that.

    1.02.3 is here: ftp://ftp.linksys.com/international/firmware/WAG54G_AnnexA_ETSI_v1.02.3_02_code.bin
