WAG54G - problem with 'block anonymous internet requests'

My WAG54G works pretty well most of the time, wireless side and DSL side, but even though I have selected 'block anonymous internet requests', it can still be pinged from the Internet, lowering my general security. Does anyone have a fix for this please ?

Also, the 'Access restrictions page' seems not to work as it should - if you bar a PC using its MAC address, the filtering does not work. Likewise if you bar a PC using time limits.

    Using firmware 1.01.01

After updating the firmware to 1.01.01 did you reset the router back to factory defaults and then re-enter your settings? If you didn't then that's probably why ;)

(Belated) thanks very much for the tip. I will try it now I am back from holiday.

Does it tell you to do this in the upgrade instructions ?
If so, I must have missed it )

    Cheers,
    Geoff.

I have just tried your suggestion, but I can still ping the router at it's external IP address.
