    Hello ..

I have WAG54G eu version ... It is operating fine with no problems but what I notice is the temperature of the modem which is extermly hot.
Well I am talking about 45-46 C and I do not know how far the modem will be able to withstand such high temp.

    Kind regards,

Don’t worry. The manual say it works between 10 and 70 degree.
Keep it away from heat. So not on top of a monitor or in direct sunlight.
Then there is nothing to worry about. Its normal for this type of device to gain high temperatures. You can aways build in a small laptop fan. I saw it somewhere on this forum. :D

you can build in everything you want the point is that it should work not that you should change stuff to make it work, it is not the cheapest router you buy , this fucking router has cost me 140 euro then it beter works

I did the same thing (old cpu fan) to my WAG54G and then the LAN started dropping out. (Wireless still worked).

I moved the fan to the underside, same problem.

So I put the fan far away and pumped the air down a long flexible tube (thinking the fan might be causing RF interference), same problem.

I have since concluded that the unit doesnt like running cool, although its now standing on the floor on its side and seems to be ok without the fan.

The component inside the WAg are commercial temp range ( 0 to +70°C), but I think that the wireless card is 0 to + 55°C like moste of gsm.

Due to the high power dissipastion of the 5v and 3,3 V power supply the interant temps of the WAG is at least 25° (may be 35°) over the ambient temp.

That means that meanns that the WAG will start to become crazy when the room temp is over 30°.

I send mine in RMA because the DSL and wireless disfunction when the room temp is over 27°C

You're lucky Booly because 6 weeks after, I have no answer from Linksys about my RMA !?

I was loosing wireless with temperature and in the meantime, I'm obliged to use a fan.

I confirm that WAG54G uses components very sensible to the temperature and that Linksys takes the customer for a ride...
