WAG54G v1.2 reboots itself

I know there are many issues with WAG54G's, but searching on this problem is tricky as WAG54G and "reboot" brings up everyone telling people to reboot after a firmware upgrade! - so appologies if this has been covered already.

I personally have had a reliable router - ADSL fine, wireless great etc.

I recently moved and while fault finding a problem which turned out to be my service providers fault, I upgraded my WAG54G v1.2 firmware from 1.01.16 (I THINK) to firmware 1.02.2 as advised by Linksys support.

This was only at the start of the week and I don't think this is anyway the latest version which seemed odd advice.

To the problem - everything is fine, DSL stays up, wireless is solid, connection is good - but the router randomly reboots! It happended to me once when I was online, but checkimg the bytes transmitted and recieved, it's often a low number, making me think the unit is rebooting more than I have witnessed during the night etc/when I am at work.

Can this be firmware version related?

Should I go back to the firmware I had (I don't see it available for download) or go higher?

    I suggest you to use 1.02.7 or 1.03.0 !

    Is 1.03.0 a non-beta release - I did not see that version on ftp://ftp.linksys.com/international/firmware/

I feel like I have upgraded and caused trouble - are these versions really stable?

With Linksys, there is no difference between official and beta, everything is wrong...

For example, with WAG 2.0 the original and official firmware 1.00.19 is the worst... crazy isn't it ?

Your best bet is to find the best firmware for your need.

I tested all of them and I currently use 1.02.7 on my Wag 1.2 and 1.01.15 on my Wag 2.0, both are beta...

    WAG54 resetting

I had a catalogue of resetting problems with the router, I have fitted a mains filter to remove spikes caused by fridges etc and upgraded to 1.02.9 from 1.02 7. I have had no problems for 5 weeks.

Note, 1.02.7 works fine on my Wag because it's the only one working with WDS...
