I'm using a 2k3 server met PPTP, and like to pass trough my new WAG54G V2 Firmware version 1.00.47

    My client computer tells me

Error 721 : The remote computer does not reponds

    Settings on the router :

VPN settings : PPTP passThrough is enabled.

I have put the server in the DMZ zone, this works because I can see my website on it.

    Could sommeone help me ??

    Best regards

    Serge

Oh yes I tested it with a no linksys router and this works, so the hardware looks to be fine.

Is it safe to assume that you have port 1723 forwarded to the vpn server? If this is done, then next look at the security tab of the vpn client and check the method of authentication.

Here's a good link to get vpn technology training on disc for $59. The documentation covers setting up windows vpn servers for 2000 and 2003: http://www.trainsignal.com

Thanks Doc, for the fast reponds.

I have put my server in the DMZ zone, as far as I know, forwards this all IP messages to this server.

This works fine for the non linksys router that I have, so correct me if I'm wrong for the linksys router.

    Best regards

For other people not only portnumber 1723, but als gre procol 47 must be forward to the server.

you should still go with the portforward cause i think dmz is broken.

also you might want to upgrade your firmware.. WAG54GV2-UK_AnnexA_ETSI_v1.01.05_000_code.bin unless you are located in a non eu country then look true the forum for newer firmware
