[WAG54G] What's The Big Deal?!?!

I really must be one of the lucky ones because I am "JUST NOT" having all the problems people have been speaking of with the WAG54G. I'm able to VPN, run my ftp server, you name it. Plus, I haven't been down in "AGES!" All this by the way is being done with the "out of the box" original firmware. My secret? Here:

    1) Get a static IP from your ISP (The WAG54G does not have a dhcp setting in the menu so if you're isp changes it's addresses every 24hrs like mine does, the WAG will drop the signal).

    2) Register with a dynamic dns provider (Go to www.webreactor.net and you'll get a dynamic dns address in 2 mins for free and be using it within 5 mins of having it assigned).

    3) Set your MTU to manual, and then to 1500 (Smooth as silk is the result).

People, networking is a craft. Although the hardware being utilized should have a proven and stable baseline, sometimes it's going to take a little "extra" from the users to make this "shizzle" work better...
