Hi, i currently have a wag54 g and supprisingly have had no problems yet!!!

I am using the adsl modem, and wifi to pc, and rj45 to my x-box, but i will be moving soon and intend on getting ntl cable as adsl won't be available.
Will it be possible to use this product with the cable, connected from the set top box? does anybody have this working?

If it is not possible, is there a firmware update or different software that i could use to make it possible?

To the best of my knowledge, a Cable internet connection won't work with the WAG, something to do witht he way data is sent and recieved I think.

There is no firmware/software available that will solve this as it's a hardware issue I think.

Yep, I too confirm what baillie wrote, you shall NOT be able to use this router with NTL Cable. You shall need to get yourself a Broadband (Cable) router.

Thanks for the quick replies!, I may end up using adsl after all.... cable would have been easier in a rented property....

If i do switch to cable i will prob just run the cable broadband through one pc, then from the pc to the router, i could use ics on windows, or smoothwall linux to do this i suppose, this way i am covered if i do use ntl, bummer though having to leave one pc turned on all the time :(!
