Wallwatcher no longer logs with DDWRT V23Beta

    Upgraded my WRT54G from DD-WRT Alpha 23 (8/29) to Beta (9/15)

Wallwatcher stops displaying log records. If I select display all router messages (in WW) I get blank type 'M' records.

Do I need to set a different router type or make any changes to WW

Anyone else having problems with WW
Edit: Well - its not WallWatcher. Etherreal showed no outgoing syslog from the router. DD-WRT web GUI shows no inbound or outbound log messages either

I need logging - any ideas??

try again. Hold reset button for more than 30 seconds.

Then, in admin control, turn loggin on full after setting all your settings back.

This is what worked for me.

    What a PIA!!!

I did what you suggested.. Long reset - add back in basic stuff to get router back on line. Turned on syslog and routing - logs OK
Loaded back in my saved config stuff - all is OK now with logging

PIA yes, but glad it worked for you.

being that both of you have wallwatcher working in v23, any chance you could give me some direction on how to properly configure wallwatcher to show bandwidth usage ?

wallwatcher is collecting logs from the router already

Enable SNMP on your router, configure the bandwidth section of WW with the correct community strings (passwords) for your router and thats it

this may sound stupid, but where do i enable snmp on the router?
community string just being the same as the router config password?

    Aministration->services

    Enable SNMP

Then put a read community (password) and a write community. Also take the time to fill in router name and contact info - some polling programs make use of this system info.

Are you running the mini version or the standard build?? Maybe SNMP is not included in the mini build....

    I'm using Wallwatcher v3.3.16 with DDWRT v23 SP2 on a WRT54GS.
On WW's bandwidth monitoring setup tab, I see there are 2 methods of collection, "logs" and "snmp", but the "logs" radio button is greyed out.

So I'm collecting via "snmp", and in the bandwidth analyzer, I can only see aggregate data for my real public IP address. inbound and outbound.

That is not as useful to me.
I need to see bandwidth usage per internal machine.
So that I can track down the bw hogs.

Is it just me? having the "logs" option greyed out?
