    Howdy all,

Have had a WAP4400N working well in the office now for a month or so. Its currently setup with a static IP, WEP, and authentication type as open system. Just pulled a second 4400N and wanted to set it up with the roaming function. I have configured it exactly the same as the first with the exception of a different static IP. This includes the same SSID and WEP security key. I have tried the same channel as well as a different channel without much success. As I understand it when I move from one WAP4400N to the next in a different area, the laptop should pickup on the second without having to select it from the wireless network list? Sort of a seamless transition. Can anybody give me some ideas on what I am doing wrong or need to change?

    Thanks much

    its all about channels

    hi,

am working on the same problem with 4 APs. I have gotten this far in info:

best setup is with a max. of 3 APs. set them to channels 1, 6 and 11 because these channels dont overlap. They all MUST be on a different channel, unless they are so far apart that the signals dont overlap.

    good luck,

    jiewrev

Thanks for your response :) Did you have any luck with your setup? Please let me know if you can.
I took your advice, unfortunately it didn't seem to help. Not sure what else to do - am now looking at settings in the Wireless Network Connection (XP).
