    wap54 as repeater (wds ddwrt)

    Hey All,

I'm using a linksys WRT54GL with coovaAP with very good success!

Now I want to repeat the wireless signal to extend the range.
    I bought a couple of linksys WAP54G's.

Can I use the standard repeat function with the mac address of the covaAP? IP settings? (Here I get a problem not getting an ip from the covaa-dhcp I think)

Or should I flash the WAP's in order to have WDS? Which firmware? And can somebody explane it a bit more the WDS settings?

    many thanks,

    Now I flashed de wap54 with dd-wrt.
Now I have the WDS settings, although I can't get it to work with the WDS setting from the coova site. http://www.coova.org/wiki/index.php/CoovaAP/WDS

Anyone had succes in setting up WDS?
can you please check the settings from coova?

    many thanks!

    The setup is now working!

    1 WRT54GL with the coovaAp
4 wap's with DDWRT and WDS

    Be careful:
you have to change the macadress (ddwrt puts a standard) on the AP's

WDS: Watch out for loops is 1 <-> 1 idea (there if a post on multiple wds setup, I think is multiple WDS nightmare)
so don't put all the mac adresses in the linksys!!!
