    iMac with Airport Express card...

I'm not sure if you are trying to do the same thing I just did, but I have the WAP54G and was trying to use it instead of an Apple Airport Express base station. My iMac has the Apple Airport Express card installed, which is supposed to be Wireless G compatible. However, each time I tried to join the network using Airport, I was informed:

The wireless network "wap54g" does not support the requested encryption method

I had been trying to use WAP-Personal, which is supposed to work, but didn't. When I switched to WEP-128 bit key, everything worked fine.

The only downside is that you will have to be careful to write down the long hexadecimal key that is generated in the WAP54G setup utility, because you will need it when you join the network from the iMac. The password prompt only accepts 0-9 and a-f (lower case only) when entering the hex password, so that is a help, but with 26 characters, you may still want to make sure to add it to your keychain when you finish.

Hope this helps -- I would also like to hear from anyone who got the WAP-Personal mode to work.
