I need to connect a wired computer (ip range 42.0) to a wireless network (of which my wap54g is in ap client mode) using ip range 1.0

So, basically, the wap54g should play default gateway between the 42.0 and 1.0 (its wired and wireless) side.

    can it do this?

If not, I alos have a wre54g at my disposal. can I use this device to make this link?

if not, what linksys device should i get? (a BEFSR41 linked to a wet54g?)

A WAP does not have routing functions, so it cant act as a gatway. You will need another router to do that job.

If patched in BEFSR41 an it works like a charm.
