    Hello

Is it possible to run WAP54Gv3 in bridge-mode with WAP or WAP2?
Linksys hotline tells only WEP64 or WEP128 is possible in bridge-mode.

    Thanks

WPA in bridge mode "works", but not fine... with WEP runs well but WEP protection is very poor. I'm having problems with this, i hope that a new firmware revision fix this problem like firmware v3 fixed problems with bridge+WEP

    PD: sorry about my english

This problem is still not sloved with hardware vesion v3.1
WPA-Personal is possible but NO GO for WPA2-Personal.
It seems to me that they dit NO RESEARCH about this.

    Verry sad...

Guys, for "bridge mode", which I assume is like WDS or WET mode where 2 or more non-client type wireless devices connect to each other, WPA is just fine, particularly when used with AES encryption.

The additional attributes that WPA2 brings over WPA, has virtually no impact for non-client devices. For instance: "fast roaming" are for clients moving from one AP to another - non-client devices don't do that.

I guess one can say that, for non-client devices, WPA/AES is more than 99% WPA2.

As for WEP only for bridge mode with the default Linksys firmware: AFAIK the WAPs can run dd-wrt and other 3rd party firmware. These 3rd party firmwares gives you many more options. Don't stay in the dark ages of limited firmware... ;) Check out the downloads link on this site.
