Warranty Woes

    He there I just thaught of a question about linksys warrantys.

    Does installing thirdparty firmware on a linksys void my linksys warranty??

    Yes it does. The warranty is good for one year from purchase date. So after that it wouldnt matter what you do to it.

    Mastec is technically correct, but just between you and me, there really isn't any possible way of Linksys knowing you did this. If you plan on returning the router or getting warranty service done on it, simply flash it back to stock firmware and clear the NVRAM. Bang, good as new.

    On the unfortunate event that you should brick the router because of a bad flash, there are ways of recovering the router without having to return it/send it back to Linksys.
