I'm helping my wife's business with their firewall. It is an outdated WatchGuard x10e with firmware from 2009. LiveSecurity, Webblocker, Spamblocker and Gateway AV/IPS are all expired. They have no need for blocking objectionable web sites or spam, don't need a VPN, and their Internet access is just for email and browsing for 3 PCs. I'm considering an E1200. Now, I realize I'm in a Linksys forum, but does anybody have an opinion as to if the WatchGuard x10e is a better firewall than the E1200 for SOHO needs?

Well, I can't speak for Watchguard but I know that Cisco/Linksys routers are backdoored for govt intercept. Probably anything sold in the states these days is. Sure, nothing to worry about until a hacker decides it's worth the payoff to crack. Anything sold in the US or by US/UK manufactures is likely backdoored
