    hi,

i have searched for a while and haven't found an answer to my problem. I have a wcg200 cable gateway. Trouble starts happening when i download or consume alot of bandwidth through wireless. That includes downloading files, transferring files wirelessly inside the network. The router suddenly hangs and needs a restart. I have seen other similar posts but with different models.. and no it does not come back after a few minutes. It hangs until i go and manually switch power off, then back on ..

This is really causing lots of problems here, so if anyone knows what i can do to stop this problem i would really appreciate his/her help..

    thank you

Note: i am not having any problems doing this through wire.. only wirelessly

Same problem here - I've seen a ton of complaints about this Linksys product. I've tried everything with both Comcast & Linksys tech support to no avail.

I have an idea. Go to as many sites that sell this product online (I can think of a site named after a jungle for starters) and allows customer reviews and write about your problem. If enough people complain about having the same issues it would a.) discourage other people from buying Linksys unsupported products. b.) by hurting their sales Linksys may actually try to fix some of these bugs in their products.

Just to give my 2 cents, I think the reason why Linksys did not mad any new firm ware to the WCG200 is to allow cable Internet Service Providers more control over there clients letting the ISP make there own firmware if they what to. It must be pretty attractive for some cable ISP network administrator to know exactly how there clients connect to there network.

I am having the same issue. I found a forum a week and a half ago and have posted on it regarding what I've figured out so far. Feel free to visit http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,16144018~days=9999 and look for Vilicus on page 3, there will be a chatlog between myself and linksys regarding the issue.

    1. Check your firmware on the wcg200? If its 1.1.3.5.10-0520 then comcast did an update on your hardware and needs to reverted back to its original firmware version of 1.1.2.9.4-1104.
    2. If you have the faulty firmware. Linksys will not revert it back. They have no firmware support for the hardware. Comcast made the change back in June, Linksys will only tell you that Comcast needs to revert it.
