WDS (between WRT54GS & ST585)

    Hi,
    I have some trouble setting up my WDS. I have recently received a new modem (Speedtouch 585). What I would like to do is setup a WDS between the Speedtouch and two WRT54GS (with dd-wrt installed).

    My previous setup looked like this (and it worked as it supposed to):
    PC---wired--- WRT54GS (v6.0) Host ----wireless---- WRT54GS (v6.0) Client ---wired--- Xbox/XBMC

    What I would like to do is this:
    PC--wired-- WRT54GS v6.0 Client1 -- wireless -- SpeedTouch 585 Host -- wireless -- WRT54GS v6.0 Client2 --wired-- Xbox/XBMC

    This is what I have tried so far: I have added the MAC address of the modem in both routers. I have disabled encryption in order to make the troubleshooting easier
    Through the ST585 WDS interface I have found the clients and added them into WDS “enableâ€.

    This is the current setup of my devices:
    Host/ST585:
    Interface active = Yes
    MAC adress = 00:14:7F:84:7F:4F
    SSID = CypressNet
    Interface type = 802.11b/g
    Speed = 54 Mbps
    Channeltype = Manual
    Region = Europe
    Channel = 6
    Accept multicast from LAN = Yes
    WMM = Activated
    Name on network = Yes
    Accept new units = New units will be accepted (automatically)
    Security mode = None

    Bold marked text describes where to find the parameters in the dd-wrt interface.
    Client 1:
    IP = 192.168.0.2 (Setup -> Basic Setup)
    Internet connection type = Disable (Setup -> Basic Setup -> Internet Setup -> Internet Connection Type -> Disable)
    Gateway = 192.168.0.254 (Setup -> Basic Setup -> Network Setup -> Router IP -> Gateway)
    Start IP address = 100 (Setup -> Basic Setup -- Network Address Server Settings (DHCP))
    Static DNS1 = 81.216.65.11 (Setup -> Basic Setup -- Network Address Server Settings (DHCP))
    Static DNS2 = 81.216.65.12 (Setup -> Basic Setup -- Network Address Server Settings (DHCP))
    Firewall = Disabled (Security -> Firewall -> Firewall Protection)
    Security mode = Disabled (Wireless -> Wireless Security -> Security Mode)
    Mode = AP (Wireless -> Basic Settings)
    Channel = 6 (Wireless -> Basic Settings)
    SID = CypressNet (Wireless -> Basic Settings)
    MAC adr = 00 14 7F 84 7F 4F //Host MAC (Wireless -> WDS)
    Lazy WDS = Disabled (Wireless -> WDS)
    WDS subnet = Disabled (Wireless -> WDS)

    Client 2:
    IP = 192.168.0.3 (Setup -> Basic Setup)
    Gateway = 192.168.0.254 (Setup -> Basic Setup -> Network Setup -> Router IP -> Gateway)
    Internet connection type = Disable (Setup -> Basic Setup -> Internet Setup -> Internet Connection Type -> Disable)
    Start IP address = 200 (Setup -> Basic Setup -- Network Address Server Settings (DHCP))
    Static DNS1 = 81.216.65.11 (Setup -> Basic Setup -- Network Address Server Settings (DHCP))
    Static DNS2 = 81.216.65.12 (Setup -> Basic Setup -- Network Address Server Settings (DHCP))
    Firewall = Disabled (Security -> Firewall -> Firewall Protection)
    Security mode = Disabled (Wireless -> Wireless Security -> Security Mode)
    Mode = AP (Wireless -> Basic Settings)
    Channel = 6 (Wireless -> Basic Settings)
    SID = CypressNet (Wireless -> Basic Settings)
    MAC adr = 00 14 7F 84 7F 4F //Host MAC (Wireless -> WDS)
    Lazy WDS = Disabled (Wireless -> WDS)
    WDS subnet = Disabled (Wireless -> WDS)

    When I open the status/wireless window in dd-wrt web interface, I can see the Host/ST585 unit. But the signal strength is 0.
    I can’t ping the host through the client. Neither can I ping the client/WRT54GS through the host.

    I have no idea how to proceed my troubleshooting. If anyone has configured a WDS between Speedtouch 585 and WRT54GS (dd-wrt) or have an idea what can be wrong, I would be much grateful for your help.
