    I use this script on my wds router to show if it is connected to my ap. How can I modify it to not only show it's connected to my ap, but my ap is connected to the internet? I guess it makes sense to ping google, instead of my ap's ip address.

    Code:
    remotewdsip="192.168.2.1"
    sleep 2
    while sleep 60; do
    if [ "`ping -c 1 $remotewdsip|grep 100%`" == "" ] ; then
    led amber on white off
    else
    led amber off white off
    fi
    done
    I tried this, but it didn't work:

    Code:
    remotewdsip="www.google.com"
    sleep 2
    while sleep 60; do
    if [ "`ping -c 1 $remotewdsip|grep 100%`" == "" ] ; then
    led amber on white off
    else
    led amber off white off
    fi
    done

    :thumbup:EDIT--I figured it out...I replaced www.google.com with one of google's ip addresses:

    Code:
    remotewdsip="74.125.45.99"
    sleep 2
    while sleep 60; do
    if [ "`ping -c 1 $remotewdsip|grep 100%`" == "" ] ; then
    led amber on white off
    else
    led amber off white off
    fi
    done

    BTW--Is it ok to ping google every minute? Is that too frequent?
