Hello. I have a question. How is chipset Linksys WAG120N. Broadcom? Trendchip? Some other? I'm SNR Margin 55 dB and Line Attenuation 20 dB. Best chipset for this specyfikation line is Broadcom?
You should quote your attenuation up and down which is a result of cable connecting you to exchange. SNR margin is a result of connected speed usually 6dB min, slightly higher if you have a capped connect speed. No universal answer to what chipset is best, often matching the hardware used by the ISP in the exchange is recommended. In practise different manufacturers make different modems from the same chipset, power supplies, board layout and dsp firmware all make a difference. Few good reviews of Linksys ADSL modems/routers, and the firmware is often poor not even providing access to the ADSL line details and diagnostics.
