Hi, I searched but could not find the answear. I want an easy set-up firmware with good stability and performance, it that the original linksys fw or some other? I know people have different thought in this subject but write your suggestion and let me do the math. I have a WRT54GL.

    Personally I prefer Thibor15c for my WRT54GS (v1.0).

I also tried Tomato and DD-WRT, both more than once, but keep comming back to Thibor15c. Both Tomato and DD-WRT had some DHCP problems with my win98se computer (but not with my winXP computer). Thibor15C and the official linksys firmware don't have this DHCP problem. I also had some problems with PPPoE when using Tomato, and again Thibor15c and the official linksys firmware didn't have the problem.

Of course it really depends on what you need. If you need more advanced functions, then DD-WRT may be what you need. Tomato has nice QOS (and graphs). Thibor15c has is most like the official Linksys firmware with a few nice changes.

The best bet is to simply try DD-WRT, Tomato, and Thibor15c, and then decide for yourself which you like better! These are all nice firmwares, and the one that works best for me may NOT work best for you!
