I have WAG54G v2 with firmware 1.00.43 which Linksys loaded in it. I have a problem upgrading the firmware of it. U.A.E should have EU model so I tried upgrading it to firmware v 1.01.01 and nothing worked. I have a friend who tried by mistake to upgrade it to firmware 1.01.00 (AU) and it worked.

I want to know what is the difference between the two models; AU & EU and which is better and how I can know (as hardware) which model (AU - EU) I have.

    If i've well understood :

AU stands for australian EU for european.

Then you got sub categories Annexe A (French model for example) and Annexe B (german model for example)

AU got more memory than EU, may be there's others differences.

i'm newbie anyway, check out those answers with more experienced people.

isn't it the flash that is greater instead of the memory..

    i know it has a 8mb flash instead of a 4mb

To know which model you have do the following:-

You can see this on the carton box of the device.
On the bottom side of the box is a label with the bar code. Just above
the bar code, you will find `Model No.:WAG54G-xx`

If xx is: EU, you have a EU Annex-A device
If xx is: E1, you have a Annex-B device
If xx is: E2, you have a AU (service provider) device.
