    WPC54G v1.x has Broadcom chipset
WPC54G v2 has Texas Instrument chipset
    WPC54G v4 has Inprocomm chipset

I know that ver 1 works wonderful with the Broadcom drivers. I have used Ver 2 for several months now and is very stable, I’m using D-link DWL-G650+ drivers with my card. On the other hand WPC54G v2 does not support AES, so if you want WPA-PSK and AES (vs TKIP), then don't get v2. Looks like Ver 4 supports it http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=988

I though you could only get ver 4 of the card bundled with a wireless router, unfortunately I do not know much about this card. More references for Ver 4 of this card could be found in here: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,10889060?hilite=wrk54g

Good for you. Over here I just completed aplaying WXP SP2. I decided to test Linsys drivers again and they appear to be working just fine.
