    Hi there,

I currently have a ADSL2MUE, i want to replace this with a up to date linksys adsl modem, (mainly as i miss and need the line stat information that other modem 's give me) like noise, attenuation, SNR etc..

I see there are many adsl modems, am200, am300, ag300, befsr41. (what difference between the first too?!?)

What linksys modem will give me this information as well as be future supported (for adsl2+) and will link nicely to my linksys router network which consists of many wrt54gs's and my new wrt600n.

    Many thanks
    Stuart

The ADSL2MUE does work in ADSL2+ (sometimes with better PSU?), and it does generate the stats - its just that Linksys chose to hide them from the web screen. You have to risk 3rd party firmware to re-enable them!

oooh, didn't know there was 3rd party firmware was available for the adsl2mue.
Coul dyou give me details on it?

I am using linksys firmware, but austrailian version of it i believe that opened the router up a little more.
i was aware that the adsl2mue "would" be adsl2+ compatable but in a later firmware update, but it looks like linksys have ended support for this item now.

The 2.17Ti version is not ADSL2+ compatible, I recall it has V3 DSL drivers (even older than Linksys 4.12 which most units shipped with). Linksys 4.22 beta is ADSL2+ compatible with V4 drivers (but didn't work well on my line, and no stats was a complete pain).

If you look at a simulator of an Italian mod to the 3rd party Routertech firmware (based on Russian Acorp firmware) here,

    http://darkwolf.altervista.org/demo/index.php

you will recognize similar roots from the firmware in the Ti reference firmware.
