What router is best for this setup?

I currently have one ISP but have 5 static IPs. I have a WRT54GS but have already run out of available ports to forward.

I have been looking to purchase the WRT350N or the WRTSL (because it can be moded) as an upgrade, but also like the looks of the RV042 - it looks a bit more "professional" with lots of great options, as well as the ability to work with a 2nd ISP if I go that route.

The initial problem is this. I can connect the WRT54G and another one to my ISP connection using a switch. Each can handle an IP and forward to a different server. however, doing this messes up my internal network. I can't seem to remove the default gateway and be able to route properly, and if I have only one default gateway I can't use forwarding on the 2nd router.

It almost seems like I need one or more wireless WAN router on the outside and some other router internally. Perhaps a RV042 would work for this?

I also want to get VPN working... and want wireless, of course.

    Thoughts?

BTW: I do mostly my own testing with web, Exchange servers etc. as a living "lab" for my work. I often do goofy things like setting up separate AD and Exchange environments to test connectivity between etc.

Can you please elaborate on "I can't seem to remove the default gateway and be able to route properly".
