subject sums it up... Just curious as to which official linksys firmware the latest dd-wrt 23 builds are based on... is it 4.20.7?, 4.20.8? something older? i know it moved from a sveasoft derivative to an official linksys base... thanks in advance for any info.

I thinks it's now based on OpenWRT :thumb:

OpenWRT rocks. Hopefully one day, they would be more and more compatible.

I'm not sure it's based on OpenWrt, I've read it on a french web site but I can't find this information elsewhere ... ?

(BTW OpenWrt WhiteRussian RC4 is out)

v22 was based off of Sveasoft Alchemy, and contained fixes and many extra features by BrainSlayer.

v23 is mostly based off of OpenWRT but with a 100% new web interface that is unique to DD-WRT. v23 and the up comming v24 really don't have much to do with the official firmware any more.. When updates are made to the official firmare just the parts that are needed for compatiblily or bug fixes to very common modules are integrated.

DD-WRT can use many OpenWRT packages.
