I have the cable modem and router in my room and cabled to my box. My roommate connects to the wireless router via a wireless usb card. Here's the rub: Each and every time he runs limewire, bearshare, etc his connection uses up so much bandwidth that it takes me (the one with the direct connection) at least 10+ seconds just to view a new page. It's driving me nuts. I'm using linksys 54G with latest ddwrt firmware and my isp is comcast. Is there a way I can limit his bandwidth usage to no more than 40-50%? Sure do appreciate any help/info/advice.

use QoS feature. thats what it is they for. low his connection via mac address and set it to BULK. turn off WMM also. this tries to prioritise Wireless.
