I want to build a script that reboots or is doing an ip renewal when a ping to an ip-adress gives a time-out.

I want doing this because my cable company internet connection is unstable. When loosing a connection then I do not have internet anymore. Normally I am doing a release/renew manually and my internet is up again.

If this can be automaticly made by a script and use of the Cron service then I am very happy.

I am no Linux guru. Maybe someone has a script or an example for me? I am using the latest DD-WRT firmware.

maybe you can use the reboot function in the routers admin pages...

That's exactly what the "WDS/Connection Watchdog" feature is for! (You can find it on the 'Administration > Management' page in v22 & on the 'Administration > Keep Alive' page in v23.) :thumb:
