Which firmware is best?

    I have a WRT54GS V1.1 here in the UK.

I only want to run a small home network of about 3 or 4 computers all sharing my 2mb adsl connection.

It is up and running now and seems to be working fine, except that I cannot forward any ports.

    No s/w firewall running.
    XP firewall disabled.

I use a Netgear DM 609 as my modem.

I have the latest version of Linksys official s/w. I was just wondering if I should consider moving over to any of the unofficial firmware's?

Bear in mind I am in the UK, just in case this makes a difference.

well if the forwarding doesn't work under the official firmware it's not likely to work any better with custom firmware you';d be better off trying to find the cause of the forwarding not working than installing custom firmware right off (however running custom f/w is fun and all)
