I am a long time user of DD-WRT, and Tomato. If your a hardcore network guy, use DD. DD better for Repeaters, complex networks, multiple SSIDs, tons of options. If you need awesome throughput, the best QoS, and the least work to configure and suport, use Tomato. Should be able to run tomato if you have a 5352...Use 1.16.7z for a Linksys... http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato For DD don't use release candidate 6.2. Bad news... At the time of this post use RC7-9068 NEWD http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/down.php?path=downloads/others/eko/RC7-9068/
Please be advised. Tomato firmware does not support the WAP54G. I dont know about ddwrt firmware however
Toxic is corect. In fact, WRT are routers and WAP's are AP (Access Points). It's a difference. Maybe for your WAP better with HyperWAP (you can read about it through here) or MustDie (here). PS: I only read about them, I know a little but I don't actually own one (WAP's). I have instead 2 WRT54GL (Tomato style).
i uploaed the new firmware (while taking a deep breath and holding it!) and it works however i have changed the range of tx power from 42-63-84 and seen no difference. i used the hyperwap software v3_3.04.2. is there something i forgot to do? any help is appreciated.
I recommend the latest v24 SP2 beta of DD-WRT http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/down...-r12505/broadcom/dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin
