    hi!
    I have only 1 question - which linksys wrtXXX is the best:

    CDF0 = WRT54G v1.0 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 125Mhz
    CDF1 = WRT54G v1.0 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 125Mhz
    CDF2 = WRT54G v1.1 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 125Mhz
    CDF3 = WRT54G v1.1 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 125Mhz
    CDF5 = WRT54G v2.0 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CDF7 = WRT54G v2.2 / BCM5325EKQM Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CDF8 = WRT54G v3.0 / BCM5325EKQM Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CDF9 = WRT54G v3.1 / BCM5325EKQM Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CDFA = WRT54G v4.0 / BCM5352E Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CDFB = WRT54G v5.0 / BCM5352EKPB Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    WRT54GL
    CL7A = WRT54GL / BCM5352E Chipset / CPU 200Mhz

    WRT54GS
    CGN0 = WRT54GS v1.0 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CGN1 = WRT54GS v1.0 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CGN2 = WRT54GS v1.1 / BCM5325EKQM Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CGN3 = WRT54GS v2.0 / BCM5325EKQM Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CGN4 = WRT54GS v2.1 / BCM5325EKQM Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CGN5 = WRT54GS v3.0 / BCM5352E Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CGN6 = WRT54GS v4.0 / BCM5352E Chipset / CPU 200Mhz

    ????????

    one of these:

    wrt54gs

    CGN0 = WRT54GS v1.0 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CGN1 = WRT54GS v1.0 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CGN2 = WRT54GS v1.1 / BCM5325EKQM Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CGN3 = WRT54GS v2.0 / BCM5325EKQM Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CGN4 = WRT54GS v2.1 / BCM5325EKQM Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
    CGN5 = WRT54GS v3.0 / BCM5352E Chipset / CPU 200Mhz

    they have 8 Mb nvram and 32 Mb ram

    Please help me!!!

    I noticed that version 4 hasn't got the same amount of memory as the previous versions.Should I avoid this version and what I won't be able to(comparing with the others versions) do with the less memory that this version(v.4) has?

    For your version 4, take a trip over to the forums of www.hyperwrt.org to discover how to load Thibor's "GS" release onto it. To compensate for the smaller memory, see the sticky on cleaning the memory--located in the basics section. The V4 is a nice machine after a tiny inital struggle to get the firmware loaded. One other thing that is different is that the radio is quite a bit stronger--for better connections. ;)

    Which WRT54GS is the best then?

    So, I currently have a WRT54GS v1.0. I decided to buy a second GS model for "just in case something goes wrong" purposes. I've been searching quite a few stores to avoid the GS v4.0 model. Today I found a GS v2.0 and a GS v3.0 model. Which one should I keep? I understand that the GS v3.0 has the CPU/MAC/switch on one chip. I'm thinking the older 2.0 is better.

    any advice?

    Personally, when I had the chance to buy either a 2.1 or version 3 , I chose the version 3 because it still had 32/8 memory, but also used the newer chipset. Dunno if it's better or not(I seen people talk about the v4's having a stronger signal and since the v3 uses the same chipset, it may have a stronger signal as well, but I don't know) but that's what I chose and haven't had any issues with it at all.

    You don't need to avoid the GS v4 in the same way that you need to avoid the G v5. The reason people are saying to avoid the GS v4 is because they have reduced the memory (ram & flash) on the units. It also tends to be a bit "stubborn" when flashing new firmware.

    Instead of buying a GS v4, you get a better deal by buying a G v4 and flashing GS firmware on it. Except for the stickers on the outside, you now have the equivalent of a GS v4.
