Which mod to use on my WRT54GL?

My neighbor wants to share internet and I'm thinking of upgrading from the Official Version 1.25 release to a mod that will give me:
    1. VPN
    2. per IP bandwidth monitoring and QOS (graphical would be nice!)
    3. the ability to seperate my neighbors network from my own (ie. give him no access to my LAN - is it better to set up the connection as a hotspot?)

The number of mods and versions is getting overwhelming.

Which one would you recommend for my WRT54GL that would give me all the feature?

    TomatoUSB K24 VPN works fine.
But I have some trouble with the QoS, maybe because I have too much rules, sometimes it freezes the router with more than 2.0 CPU usage.

Regarding your requirement #2, if the intent to share Internet is via your neighbor's wireless network, then simply setup any of the Tomato variants to be a Wireless Client. That will cause the router to insert a NAT firewall between the wireless network and your local network. It will use the radio resource (as will Wireless Bridge mode), so you will need a second router acting as an access point (or just another access point) if you want to set up your own wireless network.

@srouquette, the present consensus is that the WRT54GL can be safely overclocked to 250 MHz with no heat or stability issues.

    sorry for the off-topic...

    yep, it's overclocked.
but when I unable QoS, 2 processes use the full CPU.
    udhcpc -i vlan1 -b -s dhcpc-event -H u

it seems to be related to my torrents (with Deluge), but it wasn't doing that before build 52...

There were changes in dnsmasq and udhcpc configuration in build 52 that potentially can cause issues you described depending on your specific settings.

Do you have anything in your "Dnsmasq Custom Configuration" box? If you do - try clearing it out. If that doesn't help, just erase the nvram and reconfigure manually. It's also possible that updating to build 54 may fix the issue without erasing nvram.

EDIT: Just noticed that you're the adblock script author ;). So you're probably already aware of all the recent changes we previously talked about, and your problem may or may not have anything to do with them...

I'm currently using build 54 and the problem only occurs when I enable QoS.
Why QoS is related to dnsmasq ?
And I have nothing in dnsmasq custom conf.
