    Hi All.

I'm out of storage again and looking for another 2-4tb of disk.

I had a nslu2 de-clocked running openslug with 3 external drives, twonky on it and was very happy with it (until the power supplies on the external drives died one by one and it hasn't been switched on since).

I replaced him with a nas200 with 2x1TB drives, performance was crap to say the least but the non-journaled file system has helped and made it a stable streamer for the xbmc.

Do I go with the nmh405 which looks more like a media server than file server (having more than one SMB user is a feature we use, which is the main 'No' to it).

or Buy another NAS200 before they are all sold out

or but some new external drives and bring the NSLU2 back online ?

the price at the moment for the NAS200 & NMH405 is the same (the NMH405 comes with 500gb drive so is the better option).

if i get another NAS200 I would most likely run it with the JAC firmware, migrate the data over and then flash the other one.

What would you guys do ?

It might perhaps surprise you to hear this from me but I would say: none of the above. Looks like you have some pretty big NAS needs; you might be better off building your own: all you really need is a nice case with plenty of space for all the disks, and FreeNAS or some other software NAS solution that's likely to be way faster than anything you can buy in a box.

Besides, have you seen any of these devices lately? The NSLU2 has been out of production since before the NAS200 came out, the NAS200 is out of production too as far as I can tell, and none of the stores in my area (including Fry's) sell the NMH405, and Newegg doesn't have it either...
