    Hi,
I want to install a WLAN in a doctor's practice, so the main criteria is security. I found out that there is firmware for the WRT54G(s) that has VPN, so I could use that because it's very secure. Is it also stable and does it work well? Which Firmware and which Router should I take, is the WRT54G enough or should I go for the 'S'?

routers are not customized to your profession, so any router that supports WPA should do for you. if you need to host a vpn server, then you can download non-linksys firmwares to give you that capability.

I thought about it the same way but at another forum people told me that there are legal issues when flashing other firmware to the router and using it in a doctor's practice with medical hardware because the router loses its permission...
But personally I don't think someone would ever notice that there is another firmware on it.
