Dunno about either of them but I can recommend either the Asus RT-N16 or -N66U from personal experience.

They appear to be comparable hardware-wise (CPU, RAM, Flash) so I'd go with the RT-N12 since it's cheaper and has external antennae.

    Thanks to this I know!

We must choose from these routers.
He does not need an expensive router :)

Not enough for further Tomato developments ... and if he wants to use IPTV, forget it. RT-N16

Those specs are for older RT-N12. The new Asus RT-N12 B1/C1/D1 has Broadcom BCM5357 @ 300 MHz, Flash 8MB, RAM 32MB.

Better listen to Victek, though. While the N12 will suffice for low load and low bandwidth scenarios, you'd likely need a better CPU if you want to do anything fancy.

I got the N10P and N12 D1 but for my needs, even a WRT54GL would have been good enough. The N10P and N12 just happened to be better alternatives at a lower price.
