Hi folks. I want to upgrade/replace my router/adsl modem setup. Until a few days ago I was using this setup:

    - Linksys BEFSR41 v2.0.
    - Linksys WAP11 (802.11b) v2.6.
    - Speedtouch 510.

A fews days ago my Speedtouch died after some firmware flashing so now I'm stuck with my "older" Aztech DSL900E ADSL modem.

A week ago I got my e-id card and since it contains my digital signature I have to "secure" my PC a bit more. That's why I want a router with a good SPI/DDOS firewall. Other things I really like are:

    - DynDns updater inside the routers firmware (a must-have).
    - Static DHCP (this comes with the WRT54GC) (a nice-to-have feature).
    - Built-in 4 port switch (a must-have).

Those are the things I can think about for now.

After lots of thinking and researching I came with these solutions but I still don't know which one to choose.

    1) SpeedTouch 585 -> all-in-one solution. Also with future support like VoIP and QoS I believe? One of my favourite choices because you don't have many power supplies and don't need much space but I'm wondering if the wireless performance is as good as the linksys options.
    2) SpeedTouch 516 + Linksys WRT54GL -> probably my favourite option. The SpeedTouch in bridged mode and thus acting as a modem only and the Linksys WRT54GL (with modified DD-WRT) acting as router + access point.
    3) SpeedTouch 516 + Linksys WRT54GC -> I love the new looks and the fact that it is really compact but I guess wifi performance isn't that great (I'm already having wifi performance problems with my current WAP11 with external antenna so...). Also no modified firmwares for this router I guess?
    4) Linksys WAG354G -> another all-in-one solution. I don't know how good the built-in ADSL modem is and if it supports modified firmwares.

Can you guys help me out? ;)

    Thanks in advance

Since I've gotten no response here :(, I made up my own mind. It will be option 2 (i.e. Linksys WRT54GL now and later on the SpeedTouch 516).
