Which Toastman/Shibby RT-N file for F7D4301

    Hello everybody,

I searched the forums but was not able to find an answer to this one.

As I understand it, I need RT-N builds to enable the 5GHz band. However, in Toastman's RT-N 0501.3 VLAN folder, there is no F7D4301/F7D8301 model specific file for the initial flash. Is it safe to use the 4302 file that's there? How about after the initial flash, is this the correct file:

In Shibby's 109 RT-N release folder, there are only model specific files. Does this mean that the 4301/8301 is not supported in dual band mode in Shibby's firmware? If it is supported, which file do I use please?

    Thank you.

@crhiles, thanks a lot for the reply.

I had looked at this thread before but it does not say which file to use for initial flashing. The .trx files are not accepted by the CFE web server and there is no .bin file for 4301/8301. I am worried that if I use the .bin file for 7302 it will brick the router since it has a different switch.

Also, for Shibby's RT-N releases, all the files seem to be model specific. Is it safe to use any of them as indicated in the link above (even though they are targeted for a specific device)?

    Thanks again.

Post #3 on that link explains that any version of Shibby should work as long as it is smaller than 8mb. Do not use a 64K build though. It also suggests a way to flash the router the first time by using the mini K26 version of DD-WRT first and then going to a tomato firmware.
