I have got the option of buying a wrt54gs v1.1, a WRT54G v3.1 or a WRT54GL. I was wondering which is the best of those three routers.

    Thanking you
    Darren

it shouldn't matter really the GS has more ram, but unless you going to use the ram for ipkg applications any of these would be fine.

the GS has Speedbooster features howver unless your wireless clients can use Speedbooster, there is no point in using it.

if you haven't already done so check out our Autopsy here:

as toxic said its basically a toss up, they can all take 3rd party firmware and essentially do the same things... at least your not stuck to a v5 :thumb:

The GL is a much newer design that uses less power and produces less heat. I prefer the GL anyplace where heat might be an issue, like outdoor enclosures. It would be nice if they made a GL+ with 8M flash and 32megs RAM like the older GS units, but c'est la vie.

I would go with the GS because of the extra RAM...just in case I ever felt like using it.
